Hahnentor – Rudolfplatz, Cologne, Germany

Performance in collaboration with Maksim Hartwig.

A site-specific intervention concerning the liberation of the women who were persecuted on the witch trails in Europe. At Hahnentor, a gate in the city center of Cologne, a ceremonial act took place by transforming the site into "a gate of redemption". I was collaborating with the German artist Maksim Hartwig who was summoned by me to create an action painting that activated the gate as a portal for the spirits to move through. My role was to be the witch who calls out to the lost witches' souls to be restored. This was a guerilla act which was quickly performed and then spread on social media.
