Performance

A site-specific intervention in the heart of Cologne, addressing the historical persecution of women during the European witch trials.

At Hahnentor, an old city gate once linked to acts of violence and control, we held a ceremonial act of liberation. I stepped into the role of the witch, calling out to the forgotten souls of those once condemned.

In collaboration with German artist Maksim Hartwig, who was summoned to create a spontaneous action painting, we transformed the site into a portal of redemption, inviting the spirits of the past to move through and be restored.

This was a guerrilla ritual — raw, fast, and unsanctioned — and later echoed through images and words across social media, continuing the act of remembrance and release.
