This body of work was painted in deep connection with my own body, not as something personal, but as a reflection of the collective body consciousness. I was searching for a way to see the body not as “mine,” but as something whole, ancient, and sacred,  something with its own memory. Much of the work focuses on the interior of the body, especially the womb, as a portal of creation.

The installation took place in No Art Fashion, a former fashion store for plus-size women in the 1970s. Showing the work there created a strong contrast, the inner world of the body suddenly met the outer world of clothing and display. The space turned the body inside out. What I had painted as soft, complex, and vulnerable became, in that space, like a superficial dress. Something designed to make the body “look better,” or to hide its truth. This tension revealed something essential: how easily we forget the purity of the body as it is.

​The collection of paintings and drawings presented in this show was created between 2020 and 2023, during a time of deep personal transformation. This work grew out of a need to reconnect with the body as a sacred vessel, a place that holds memory, trauma, and the possibility of healing. Using ritual, natural materials, and embodied presence, I allowed the body to speak. The installation became a soft protest and a quiet prayer - an invitation to return to the body, not as an object, but as a living, breathing source of truth and wholeness.
